Sustainable Development Goals
For better or for worse, the system that brings us the food we eat impacts each and every one of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.Â
- Introduce your students to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (see video below).
- Explore how this field trip experience intersects with various SDG goals, especially the three below. Ask students what they think each SDG means, and then play each video.
- Consider each SDG and what challenges there might be to meeting it.
- Break students up into small groups. Ask them to choose one of the SDGs, identify an obstacle to meeting that goal, and then design a solution to address that goal. Encourage students to consider how that solution can be implemented in their own community.
